Conducted surgery on my badly broken leg. Dr. Kauffman was outstanding in every aspect of his profession. In my view, he is a brilliant orthopedic surgeon. Based on my experience, I highly recommend him.
I was required to give my medical history including all prescriptions I was taking. For three refills of my pain medication I requested hydrocoden without the acetaminophen and instead have iburprophen. Everytime I was given the one with acetaminophen. Then as I said I had to give them my medical history, I am on tegratol for seizures which arent controlled but are less frequent then without the medicine. Even with them knowing this information I was given darvocet which should not be given to people with seizures or that is on tegratol. I tried for 4 days to get them to fix the problem in the mean while I was without pain medication and they didnt seem to care. In fact they treated me like it was my fault they messed up. So they finally fix it and what do I pick up from the pharmacy?? Ultram yet another pain pill that should not be given to people with seizures as its been known to cause them. Both of these medications caused me to have seizures and yet again they didnt seem to care. It took me another 5 days to get them to fix the problem and this time they fixed it right. However in the mean time including weekends I was without any kind of pain pill for 13 days. 13 days I was left to hurt without any remorse from his office. I was still required to go to Physical Therapy, I was not allowed to stop and start back up later until I had medication. I could either do the therapy or I would be dismissed. There is nothing like doing therapy with no pain pills at all.
If you are going to see Dr. Matthew Kauffman I recommend you find another Doctor. You will get nothing but headaches from his office. While he is a nice doctor and knows what he is doing his entire staff must of been the bottom of the barrel from college. I would honestly be surprised if any of them received a grade higher then a D-.
Dr. Kauffman is truly one of the best physicians that I have encountered. He has performed a number of surgical procedures on both myself and my spouse and the outcomes for all were exactly what we came to him to accomplish. Dr. Kauffman and his staff are very Personable and Professional. Dr. Kauffman knows his patients well and their past histories and provides treatment with all medical factors in consideration. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Kauffman to anyone with Orthopedic issues. He is a caring physician that is honest and open in discussions with his patients about the best care options for their needs.
I have filed a report with the State Medical Board and I am also in the process of filing a malpractice suit for negligence.
I had knee surgery preformed by Dr. Kauffman. The pain in my knee is just as bad if not worse then before the surgery. However that is not the issues.
