parking is a little difficult to spot right away but there's PLENTY across from the main area & there's a shelter house with electricity and trash cans. the main path up and slightly into Ash Cave is wheelchair accessible. then there are marked stairs and paths to the neighboring Cave attractions. The bathrooms are glorified outhouses but every Oct I've gone they've been clean and well-maintained. Oct 2017 they built a nicer handicap accessible facility next to the shelter house.
It was an easy hike to complete. We had an 11 month old in a stroller and a dog with us. There was a river that ran through much of the trail my dog loved that. And at the end of the hike to get to ash cave there were quite a few stairs. We left the stroller up top and just carried our daughter down. It was stunning
There is always parking. Has a water fountain and restrooms. Not a long path but very beautiful. The cave is open and huge and the little water fall from the top is spectacular. Fully paved path which is great for wheel chairs. There is a more challenging unpaved path that goes up around the side. This is my favorite place in hocking hills.
Spectacular cinematic setting - Ash Cave is the largest recessed cave east of the Mississippi. Set in an eastern woodland forest it features a beautiful waterfall from its upper lip falling to a pool below sparkling in the afternoon sunlight. The deep shadows of the cave and texture of the sandstone are remarkable. Accessed by a very short easy hike from the parking lot.
